GadgetMadness.com used to have a PageRank of 6 and was well indexed on Google. Today we’re PageRank of nothing and individual pages beyond mid 2005 or 2006 don’t show up at all – even on the local Google search above. Just try searching for “pink taser” or any keywords from our recent postings. The index page shows up, but not the individual entry page. The individual entry pages for older posts like “robosapien review” are still in Google however.
Since the beginning of 2007 we’ve been trying to sort this one out. We’ve changed site settings, uploaded sitemaps, moved our storefront to a subdomain, and submitted several reinclusion requests to Google with no response and no change in status.
Now we’re really singing the blues and we’re asking for help from our readers. If you’re into SEO and have any idea why this site isn’t showing up in the biggest search engine in the world, we’re all ears (and hair).
Update: One post in the Google Webmaster help groups suggests that our problems could be caused by Google thinking we are selling text ads for search engine placement, and recommends we add the rel=”nofollow” link to any text ads on the site. However the only text ads we’re running on the site are Google Adlinks. Based on this suggestion I’ve added the nofollow attribute to sites listed under our “Cool Sites” blogroll just in case that’s part of the problem.

I can’t see any obvious reasons why you would be banned. What does the Google Webmaster Tools say your PR is ?

In the Google Webmaster tools, the majority of pages (75%) show in the low rank, and the rest are pagerank not assigned. However most of the online PageRank checks I use show a PR0. The site at one time held a PR6 ranking.
