From a business perspective, one of the many things I like about Google is the fact that they don’t just rest on their laurels; they spend a lot of time and money on innovation and research. Gmail, Deskbar, Desktop Search and Groups all spring to mind as innovations that many of us didn’t even know we needed, and that we use on a daily basis. (Okay, you might want to argue that Groups is just Deja News powered by Google search, but check out Groups 2 Beta to see the new features they’re working in to it.)
The latest from Google Labs is Scholar, which allows users to search specifically for information in research papers, theses, abstracts and the like. This sure would have been useful for me when I was working on my Masters, but it can still come in handy when researching business strategy decisions.
I would also like to remind would-be plagiarizers that you should assume that professors today are smart enough to use tools like this as easily as you. I had a professor that explained to us that he would Google suspicious phrases or passages from our research papers to keep us honest. Scholar would make that even easier.

I don’t want to argue about Deja News that would be rude.

But you’re much more polite than most, Mark.
