I’m not sure how many of you will remember this, but back a few years ago when ready.gov came online with all sorts of tips on how we should protect ourselves from all kinds of awful situations, there was actually a run on plastic sheeting and “foam in a bottle.” I have clear memories of roaming the local hardware store along with a few others who wanted to be prepared against whatever might happen. Thankfully I never had to use any of the supplies, and most of the vienna sausages and pudding in a cup I bought during that craze have expired by now, but at least I’m left with a few things like an emergency radio, flashlights, and other “home defense” supplies. Target now offers a First Aid Emergency Startter Kit that comes with basic supplies for four people, and a first aid/emergency guide plus detailed list of essential supplies not included in the kit.
