Tarantula
Are you afraid of spiders? I know people who are. OK, you got me, I am afraid of spiders. But they aren’t that scary when they get encased in lucite. That’s what I found out when I got the Tarantula desk decoration from Scientifics Online.

What’s in the box?

Silky Box
Well to start with, it’s a very nice box for something so creepy. The box itself was lined with a silky cloth, perhaps spun by the spider? I doubt it, anyway inside is just the spider encased in lucite. This is a premium quality specimen. The Lucite is so clear, it’s like glass. There are minimal bubbles in it, in fact you have to look really close to see any. A very beautiful job they did on this.

What’s good about it?

It’s creepy and educational all at the same time! Since it comes from a company that provides specimens to schools, it’s authentic! If you ever wanted to get a good look at a Tarantula but didn’t want to get “that” close, this is a great item. Miss Muffet would spill her curds and whey all over as she bolted from view when this high quality tarantula specimen sits down beside her.

What could be improved?

nothing wrong here
Maybe some flashing lights… just kidding. This item is not (obviously) a gadget but it is still a very cool addition to your collection or if you like to wow your friends with creepy crawlies. It’s not quite my style but I can’t really say anything bad about it. Fortunately I have a friend who is in to spiders and this will probably be his early Christmas gift.

GadgetMadness Verdict: 8 thumbs up!

Do spiders have thumbs? I guess I could look at this to find out. A great conversational piece. If you are looking for something cool to put on your desk at work, for $23 you can’t go wrong.
