See we put together these fan noise comparison videos for the PS3 and Xbox 360 and it ended up on Digg. Someone commented on Digg that they were burying the post because of the “plugs,” which got us to thinking.
The only thing we “plugged” in that video was “The Prestige,” and the reason we mentioned it is because it’s a freakin awesome movie. Any movie that has David Bowie playing Nicola Tesla as an elusive mad scientist is automatically kickass in our book. Then we realized that commenter probably thought we were getting paid something to mention the movie, which we weren’t.
We never have, and we never will accept payment for reviews or “plugs.” If we mention or review something on this site it’s because we’re interested in the product and either purchased it for review or were sent a sample unit for review. If the product sucks, we will tell you why. If we rave about how great it is, it’s because that’s that I think. Years ago in our naivety we assumed this was the case with everyone, and even today forget that for some sites it is different. But not for this site. Yes, we have ads and affiliate links that generate revenue; we’d love to make this more than just a hobby someday. But we won’t do so at the expense of my integrity , or the integrity of the site. What would be the point of you coming here if we didn’t give you my honest and unbiased opinion?
Thanks for listening. Back to the gadgets!
