Right out of the box this new Open Source, Linux-based video recorder from Neuros will do many of the same things the Neuros Recorder does (read my Neuros Recorder review here.) The new “Neuros OSD Linux Media Recorder Beta” is more than just a video recorder however, as it allows developers to add and enhance features on its open source firmware. Neuros is offering bounties to the first people who can write a YouTube or Google Video Browser ($1000), a Flickr Photo Browser ($600), VOIP funtionality ($500) and more! This bad boy has analog video/audio input and output, ethernet, USB, infrared, and serial ports, and two card slots to accommodate CF and SD/MS/MMC cards, and a full-function universal remote. Did I mention there are only 200 available at ThinkGeek?
