Based on the graphic novel by Alan Moore (remember The Watchmen?) “V for Vendetta” takes place in an alternate future in which Germany wins WWII and Britain becomes a fascist state. It’s also made by the Wachowski Brothers, makers of The Matrix Trilogy of films. This could be one of those films that only fans of obscure cinema love, or it could be the next runaway hit. Either way, the trailers are up on Apple’s Quicktime Trailer site. What struck me about the trailer…

What really struck me about this trailer was the striking resemblance to the “Big Brother” vidscreen from the 1984 Apple Superbowl commercial. Also, recognize that face? That’s John Hurt, who played Winston Smith in the most recent film version of George Orwell’s classic, 1984.
Looks to me like someone has done their homework. And I like that. 🙂
