Sadly I wasn't old enough to own one a Mattel Agent Zero M Sonic Blaster in 1966 but if I had I can assure you that the side would be marked in chalk "I's" for each eardrum I had blown out (other kids, not mine silly!) This sonic bazooka was pulled off the market after parents realized children could blow out other children's eardrums from "dozens" of feet away.
As soon as we can get one of these from ThinkGeek, you'll get a full review, I promise.

I had one of these and I loved it!! I guess I was lucky that I didn;t rupture any ear drums but the shock value of that sound and the thrust of air was used to lift several of those flowing 60's dresses at one of my parents cocktail parties in 1966 Montreal. I would love to have one of them again. This was the best toy of my childhood, closely followed by the Johnny 7 One Man Army; Rifle Rocket grenade launcher Gun.
I have one that has all the paperwork and shipping box it came with.
I have pumped it up and shot it a few times.
I also had one as a kid but it sadly broke and was thrown away.Everything is always for sale but I paid alot for this item.
Yep, an older neighborhood teenager gave me his when I was around 11. I LOVED that thing. LOUD, YES, but it was worth the powerful air blast it gave off. I shot my father from 30 feet away and not only did the noise scare him, but the blast of air was so strong it freaked him out. The red plastic handle finally broke. I wanted to have a machine shop make me a new handle but somehow the handle was lost thus the poor gun was tossed. I'm 47 now and still sad about the loss of that great air gun. Been looking on ebay for years for photos and or to purchase one.
This was one of the best toys I had as a kid. They always seemed to break too easy though. I think I had three total before they were finally yanked off the shelf. Oddly enough, my last one came after they had been recalled. I lived in California and we were vacationing in Seattle, WA. They had a whole bunch of them in a huge toy store there.
This was back when toys were interesting and exciting, not the wimpy things they have in the stores now.
