So you waited and didn’t preorder an Xbox 360, and now you just have to have one? Don’t feel left out – 50% of gamers are waiting for the PS3 so they can have a choice. Today at lunch I footed it to a couple of stores to get some meaningless stats for our readers:
Number of Xbox 360 Systems Received:
(Totally unscientific & just for fun)

  • Best Buy: 106
  • Target : 14
  • Fry’s Electronics: 36
  • GameStop: “Can’t tell you”
  • EBX: “Can’t tell you, but not enough.”
  • Sears: “Didn’t get our UPS shipment yet.”

What!? That’s right, Sears is carrying the Xbox 360 and many stores have not received them yet. Which made me decide to start and maintain a list for you Xbox 360 Hunters:
Places to check that you might not think of looking

  • Sears
  • Walmart (try smaller towns 50 miles in the middle of nowhere)
  • Sam’s (can anyone confirm?)
  • Costco?

It’s a short list, but I’m hoping our readers will step up and offer comments to this post on unusual places to find an Xbox 360. Did you get an X360 today without preordering and without waiting in a long line?
