I like to think that I enjoy video game music as much as the next guy. There are some who might say that I enjoy it a little bit too much, but that’s neither here nor there. The fact is, everybody loves a nice video of a blindfolded guy playing Super Mario Brothers music on the piano. And who would turn down a guy playing Super Mario Brothers music on the guitar? Not I. No sir.
After I enjoyed those videos (courtesy eBaum’s World via BoingBoing, of course), I started wondering how I could get started with my own arrangement of SMB music when I found a nice supply of video game sheet music. I can still hum the Faxanadu theme from memory, by the way.
And while I’d love to hook up with the trio pictured above, there’s just something about a chubby guy in a papier maché luchadore mask and a giant grimacing pillowcase to really take the edge off of the cosplay high.
Haha, you said “cosplay.”
I threw that in there just for you.
Oh, and before people start sending me email correcting me, I know that that last picture is supposed to be Strong Bad and Strong Mad. That’s just not the way I like to envision them.
*cough*
