Nintendo DS News: Third-party publishers, Concept Arts from visionary designers, Rumors…
From Lik-Sang’s Nintendo DS Page:
“I’ve worked with the DS and the second screen is nothing but a custom controller, each game can make whatever controls it needs appear on the screen, the screen is touch sensitive and reinforced.”
Now this is something I hadn’t thought of. A touch-sensitive screen as a controller would open a world of possibilities, and it would explain how the second screen will be interactive. I was having trouble wrestling in my mind how one would be playing a game, switch controls to move the camera on the second screen, switch back to primary controls, etc. If craigo is right, then it would explain how the second screen is utilized by the player. We’ll know soon enough once E3 hits.
“It works with any GBA game as if the game contains no new control instructions it just puts a normal looking GBA pad on it.”
And if this is true, then Nintendo is displaying pure genius & innovation once again. A new system that remains cross-platform compatible with the best selling console of all time – I’m keeping my fingers crossed!
