New Airgo chips leap in speed past Wi-Fi says Reuters. The company expects to be selling chips which can as much as quadruple the speeds you get on your wireless connection. Instead of 54Mbps, how does 240Mbps sound? Personally that blows me away that they could offer up speeds on wireless connections that beat 100Mbps copper connections. If they are able to pull this off, I guess I’ll have to go buy some new hardware because that would rock! Not only that but they claim that this new technology will allow for video connections to your TV over this high speed wireless connection. The company currently has some earlier chips being used in Linksys products so it would be natural to assume they will continue with that which will probably help Linksys in the market place if they get this first. With this and WiMAX both coming out soon, the future looks bright and without all those tangled wires!
