You watched “Land of the Lost” as a kid right? You remember the poorly animated dinosaurs Dopey and Grumpy and of course Alice. Pleo the robot dinosaur is a newly-hatched Camarasaurus that has his own unique personality, moods, and nearly 40 sensors that enable him to see, sense, touch, and move autonomously. He’s also go a color camera for eyesight, stereo hearing, full infrared capability, and over 100 custom-designed gears. If he gets hurt on a leg, he will actually limp on that leg until it “heals.” Sounds absolutely incredible right? Pleo has one major weakness – he doesn’t recharge himself when his battery gets low, and worse his battery takes four hours to charge and only lasts for one hour of play. Still, he’s as close as you can get to owning a real baby dinosaur, that is until Christmas Future when bio-engineered lifeforms will be all the rage as presents.

I’m going to have to link to this little guy from my Land of the Lost website. I guess he’s the closest you can get to owning Dopey!
