New Nintendo DS (Bright) Lite (Light)

Nintendo announced the new DS Lite which goes on sale in Japan this March. Nintendo didn't ask me, however this is more what I expected the original DS to look like, but whatever. Interestingly enough the "lite" moniker may not have anything to do with it being smaller. The following is from the Japanese press release page, translated from BabelFish:

...it is the superior type which loads the brightness control function of 4 stages whose it is possible furthermore to make the picture bright. ("It is light", "it is bright", we have named "Lite" from meaning.)

Now we all know that if we relied on Babelfish to translate what an invading alien leader was saying to us, the Earth would end up a burned up cinder of ash because Babelfish isn't always crystal clear. This is total speculation on my part, but a smaller brighter DS would certain warrant an early import.
