screencap-voipstunt.gifFor some time now, there have been internet apps designed to bring the telephone to the computer. Everything from websites with embedded applications to standalone apps. You may remember the names MyFreeLD.com, DialPad, Net2Phone, Skype, Gizmo Project, and a host of others. Some of these may still be in operation, some may have fallen by the wayside to become a footnote in internet telephony history. Recently there has been a few key apps in use by most people for doing PC-to-Phone calling. Skype with its "for pay" SkypeOut service seems to be the big one right now. That may be about to change. Something which is hard to find these days is a PC-to-Phone app that lets you make free phone calls to anywhere in the US. VoIP Stunt is one app that will do exactly that. If you check out their website at www.voipstunt.com you will see that not only is calling to the entire US free but that you can call all of these countries as well: Australia, Austria, Belgium, Canada, Chile, China, Croatia, Cyprus, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Gibraltar, Hong Kong, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malaysia, Monaco, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Singapore, South Korea, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Taiwan, and the United Kingdom. Voip Stunt is still in beta and there's no telling how long these areas will remain free. The software promises no adware, malware, or spyware and so far I haven't seen any since installing it. I have tested the application and it does deliver on its promise of free PC-to-Phone calling and it sounds like skype quality so let your fingers do the walking and your broadband help you do the talking with VoIP Stunt.
