To all those fans of Google Maps (and the associated sightseeing) that have been waiting for Google to make their world-browser more widely available: Now's your big chance! It was released and then held back, but now it is being released again.

google_earth_art.gif Google Earth is a program (Windows 2K and XP only... Sorry, Lunacy) that takes Google Maps to the global scale and allows usable zooming down to an apparent altitude of <800 feet in a lot of locations. It wants a fast PC with a fast Internet connection, a nice video card and lots of RAM, but I haven't had any problems running it on my 2-year-old laptop.

Download Google Earth Beta from Google.
