XBox 2: will not be backwards compatible, so Xbox games to cost $600 each?

June 21, 2004 at 11:32 PM in

GI reports that the XBox 2 will not be backwards compatible with the Xbox,
spiderman2_xbox.jpg which means that those consumers (like me) that waited to purchase an XBox will likely be more inclined to stick with Sony for their gaming needs. Backwards compatibility is nice - there are only so many consoles you can fit in the average entertainment center.

In other news, while it would be funny to suggest that Microsoft will begin to charge over $600 for each new XBox game to be released, we suspect that this copy of Spiderman 2 listed at over $600 on CompUSA's website is just a pricing goof. (We hope.)

CompUSA - Buy Spiderman 2 for $629.04!

I've never used my PS2's backward compatibility.

Then you've obviously never played Kagero: Deception 3, Dark Delusion. BEST PS1 GAME, PERIOD.
