Iomega expands the Mini to 1GB

Iomega has expanded their USB drives to 256MB and 1GB, with ActiveDisk application support, 9MB/s read and 7MB/s write transfer rates, blah blah blah...look, we'll be honest. The reason why we love this new USB drive from Iomega is the illuminated USB cable that comes with the drive. We're suckers for anything with a high "ferret factor." Iomega, please release a line of drives that light up and flash like all those cellphone faceplates and add-ons, pretty please?

(For those not familiar with the little critters, ferrets are packrats who love small, shiny objects. They see a penny, or a foil gum wrapper, and they go nuts for it and add it to their stash. Hence the phrase "ferret factor.")

Look up ferret in the Webster's New World dictionary, and you see a picture of this site's webmaster surrounded by digital cameras, game consoles and obscure action figures. Oh, and he's naked, but luckily the Aibo is propitiously situated, so the rating is only PG-13 and the mental scarring is only temporary.

Oy you lot! Watch it with the Ferret comments. Or else! :-)

Are you trademarking the word 'ferret' like Microsoft just did with patenting the double-click? Personally, I'm working on trademarking the use of ASCII character 32. I'm pretty sure it was my idea first.

Messrs Sue, Vomite & Runne
To Whom it May Concern

Dear Sirs,

It has come to our attention that you - the miscreants - have been making untoward use of the word Ferret on your site, to the total detriment, confusion and sorrow of our client, Mr Red.

We are writing to inform yourselves that unless all instances of the aformentioned word or words, heretofor pertained to and remitted in triplicate, are removed, erased and never mentioned again, our client will seek redress at the highest international levels, namely The Gizmodget International Court.

We regret having to take this unfortunate action, but we are sure that you will understand that, especially in these uncertain times, it is for the ultimate benefit of the consumer to have a tightly fettered, controlled, patrolled and litigated world of ideas, concepts and artistic freedom.

Yours,

Henry C Bodgitt
Senior Counsel
Sue, Vomite & Runne
