iPod Makes You A Target?

I had heard from a friend that iPod owners are the new hot mugging targets, but when I did some research, it became apparent that the media are just looking for something to report. Ars Technica had a link to this Macworld article that pretty handily debunks the myth.

I guess it's safe for me to finally get one. Even better, now that Winamp recognizes the iPod as a supported device type.

Never been to a flashmob, think I got one invite from a guy in work, but it would have involved, well, getting out of bed on a Saturdqay morning, I mean really? what do these people think they are?
