How Long Before These Are Banned?

Microsoft Sense Cam

Microsoft Research is prototyping the SenseCam, a wearable, badge-sized camera that automatically snaps up to 2000 VGA pictures each day to act as an automatic visual logger. The pictures are not taken only on a timer; the firmware detects changes in lighting, movement and proximity, and when it detects significant changes, it takes a new picture. It could help with recalling who you met and talked to, finding your lost keys, casing shops that you're planning rob... um... forget that last one.

Seriously, though, I can see shopkeepers, bank managers, mall security guards and people in the locker room not getting as much of a kick out of this as the wearer. Like camera phones, I don't think these would be too welcome around town.
