Apple today unveiled what may be every mobile warrior’s dream display – the Apple Thunderbolt Display. What makes this new display so great? Thunderbolt I/O technology uses a single cable to connect a Thunderbolt-enabled Mac to the 27-inch Apple Thunderbolt Display and access its FaceTime camera, high quality audio, and Gigabit Ethernet, FireWire® 800, USB 2.0 and Thunderbolt ports. Thunderbolt I/O technology features two b-directional channels with transfer speeds up t0 10Gbps each and can be used with ultra-fast storage devices, high-resolution displays, and video & audio capture devices.

Here comes the important question – would you pay $999 for a 27″ display that does all this? Apple thinks you will, and the Thunderbolt Display will be available for purchase from Apple Stores both retail and online in about 60 days.
