0 to 60 in 5 seconds, is it a new sports car?
No it’s not the latest souped up sports car, it’s a bike! Popular Science and CNN are reporting that Orion Propulsion‘s President, and one of the designers of SpaceShipOne’s propulsion system, has attached a 200-pound-thrust rocket engine capable of blasting him from 0 to 60 miles an hour in five seconds! That’s faster than most sports cars! Tim Pickens, president of Orion Propulsion says that he next plans to make a company car, a pickup with a 3,000-pound-thrust rocket engine strapped into the bed! The Alabama highway patrol was not available for comment.
