Implantable Telescope For The Eye
Visioncare Inc. has developed a rather small telescope that is implanted in the eye. While many of you out there may be wondering when you can get one yourself; well you can’t or at least it isn’t for kicks. The telescope is being developed for the treatment of age-related macular degeneration (AMD). It can zoom an image up to 3x and focus it on healthy parts of the retina. It is top be placed in one eye only so that it can take the role of central vision while the other keeps its peripheral vision. It is incredible as to the advances in medicine these days as gadgets are integrated into humans.
