Michelin Replaces the Tire with the Tweel
The Michelin Tweel uses a hub and spoke design that replaces the need for air pressure in a tire. The Tweel’s flexible spokes are fused with a flexible wheel that deforms to absorb shock and rebound with unimaginable ease and still delivers pneumatic-like performance overall. The Tweel is currently available as an enhancement for iBOT™ mobility systems and Michelin has military and consumer applications planned (their tests with an Audi A4 show quite promising.)
Innovation is great, modding innovation is better. Can you imagine how cool a modded Tweel would look with glow ropes, ribbons, those clicker-spokes you used to put in your bicycle wheels….you know what we’re sayin. New, from Bandai….the Hello Kitty Tweel! (In glowing neon pink)
