Play Linux DOOM on the Giga Vu Pro Hard Drive Based Photo ViewerThe Giga Vu Pro from Jobo AG is the digital photography buff’s dream gadget. On top of being a champ at importing digital photos to its internal hard drive – it can decode a 6 megapixel JPEG in less than a second – it also has a slew of connection interfaces and can also play MP3′s and MPEG/DIVX movie files.
Some smart ass (you know who you are and we love you) recognized that the 400 MHz Intel PXA255 Xscale processor inside the Giga Vu might be able to play DOOM, and faster than you can say “BFG9000!” came the Linux SDK to do just that.
The Giga View Pro is available from Jobo for $549.95 – $599.95 for the 40GB/60GB drive models.
You can download the FREE DOOM Linux SDK for the Giga Vu from SourceForge.

One day we want to be able to play network DOOM on our toasters while waiting for the toast to burn. Mark our words – at this rate, that day will come.
