Vivitar Portable Entertainment Centre (Handheld Video Player/Recorder)

Vivitar Portable Entertainment Centre (Handheld Video Player/Recorder)We have so many questions about this new gadget, we don’t know where to start. It’s a 6-in-1 multimedia recorder/player that can encode from any video source to MPEG4 format, the results stored on its internal 20GB drive. If that wasn’t enough it also can also snap pictures with the 3.0MP camera attachement and it can record video too. (It also plays MP3′s.) Video playback is displayed via its 3.6 inch LCD screen.
Sadly, our questions (how well does it encode? can the encoded files be copied and played on PC? where did I leave my parka?) will remain unanswered for now as it seems this gadget is only for sale in the UK.

UPDATE: Ok, so we were wrong, it is for sale in the US on Amazon. Consider our wrists slapped and our bottoms spanked.

Strangely there are very few reviews on this gadget… anyone out there have one? If so, how do you like it? Anyone want to send one to us for review? Vivitar Portable Entertainment Centre (Handheld Video Player/Recorder)
