Kensington WiFi Detector – hands on

Kensington WiFi Detector hands onI picked up a Kensington WiFi Detector today when I went to a computer store to buy a laptop security cable. WiFi isn’t as huge here in Australia as it is in the US, so it will be interesting the first time I wander through the city with this. Meanwhile, despite the bollocking it’s gotten in other gadget blogs, it appears to work perfectly. It detects my wireless network and shows signal strength throughout the house exactly as I’ve determined through experience with a couple of laptops. As a bonus, though it’s large for a keyring thing, it’s very light so it’s not a problem if it’s hanging from your ignition.
