PS2 to PC in 60 seconds with the Datel USB Max
We’ve always wondered why Sony didn’t integrate a Memory Stick slot into the Playstation 2. Then it hit us – how else could you feasibly charge a whopping $25 for a memory card that only holds 8MB of data? Wouldn’t it be nice if you could transfer your game saves from your PS2 memory cards to your hard drive easily rather than buying more expensive Playstation memory cards? The Datel USB Max Drive holds 16MB of save data (including Eyetoy video) which can be offloaded to your PC by simply plugging the drive into a USB port on your PC and copying the save files to your hard drive. Just keep in mind that you can’t save directly to the USB Max in-game, so don’t throw those expensive memory cards away just yet.

    So why can’t you just plug a USB flash drive into your PS2 and copy saves off that way? Seems there’d be a hack out for that by now.

    but, more seriously… my guess is that the PS2 doesn’t have the driver for USB mass storage.
