Portable Xbox? Don’t hold your breath.

Portable gaming is becoming the next infatuation of the masses. And why not? With all the announcements last week of new systems being introduced, we can plainly see that this segment of the industry is getting some serious attention. The powerful processors and motherboards are finally starting to get to a size small enough to make systems such as Sony’s PlayStation Portable and Nintendo’s DS a reality. And with all the news coverage last week, the corporate world is starting to catch on to what the gaming public already knows: The Future is Mobile.
So, what about the 800 lb. gorilla? We’re talking Microsoft here, the often hated king of software and soon-to-be-king (whether we like it or not) or console gaming. Will Gates and co. be following the footsteps of Sony and Nintendo? Don’t count on it.
