If you’ve got a working screen trapped in an outdated laptop or tablet, MaxiVista will allow you to use it as an extra screen on your main PC. Not just a remote-controlled screen, a real drag-the-application-across extra screen. Few but the rarest of portable computers have a VGA-in, so MaxiVista uses a network connection to create a virtual VGA screen on the PC — the output of which is displayed on another computer. If you have a spare monitor, it’s still preferable to toss in a PCI video card, but if you have a spare laptop or tablet, this is the only way to get those pixels working for you again.

    This is really cool. I tried it on my old Toshiba laptop (Pentium II 450MHz) and it works brilliant.
