FASTMOBILE fastchat: The World Just Got a Little Smaller

fastmobile offers a service called fastchat that allows you to voicechat with other fastmobile users across GPRS and 3G networks using your Symbian OS phone such as a Nokia 3650 or Sony Ericsson P800. This takes a little while to sink in, but think about it: You could voice chat with or send phone camera photos to your buddy in London instantly while you are riding the subway in New York, or anywhere else that offers 3G or GPRS. “At launch this week, fastchat is already operational between the country’s GSM operators including T Mobile, Cingular and AT&T Wireless,” according to a recent fastmobile press release. At $9.95 a month with unlimited use this is an inexpensive and very cool service that should take off big. I am curious to see how well it works when I get my Nokia 3650!
