GXMG: Godzilla X MechaGodzilla

Did you know they still make Godzilla movies in Japan? Since the release of Gojira Mireniamu (known as Godzilla 2000) which was the first film in the “Millennium” series, a new film has been released just about every year. The Millennium series only takes into account the first film and itself, meaning each film assumes none of the prior films exist except for the first. This makes for some very interesting plotlines, and makes the story far less complicated. GXMG: Godzilla X MechaGodzilla came out last December, and the one before it was GMK: Godzilla-Mothera-King Ghidorah: Giant Monsters All Out Attack. Before GMK was Godzilla X Megaguirus, which is my personal favorite, where scientists develop a satellite-mounted gun which fires black holes at Godzilla! If you are interested in getting up to speed with G, check out pokerindustries.com (search for Godzilla) for import DVDs with subtitles.

GXMG is not yet out on import DVD, but should be soon. If you are looking for the trailer, it was being hosted by www.111.tv but they have closed up shop. That’s too bad too, because at one point they had a ten minute fight scene  from the film available for web watching. You can still check out the home page for the film by clicking on the image. I will see if I can manage to dig up the trailer out there somewhere for those of you who are looking for it.
